Our Mission

Hope Restorations is a nonprofit organization that aids adults in their recovery from addiction and/or incarceration by providing job skill training, transitional housing, and other reentry support.

Since its establishment in 2015, Hope Restorations (registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit), has been dedicated to facilitating a lasting change. Our organization is driven by a mission centered on providing training and workforce development opportunities for individuals who face significant challenges in securing gainful employment due to their record of substance abuse and/or incarceration.

Throughout the duration of our program, our staff offers continuous support and accountability for our participants; helping them realize that real opportunities are within their reach. Getting sober is only the beginning of the battle for the individuals we serve. Hope Restorations works to ease the difficulties of reentry and introduce healthy, employable, recovered citizens back into society.

Recovery through Workforce Development

Our workforce development program guides participants into achieving clear, attainable goals while providing necessary stability and safety through transitional housing and temporary employment security. Upon graduation, our participants are sober, healthy, employable, housed, and have a method of transportation secured. They reenter the workforce with their needs addressed and are prepared to function as productive citizens who will be an asset to their employers and community. In addition to the work-based experience we provide, Hope Restorations partners with Lenoir, Wayne, and Pitt’s community colleges to offer educational opportunities (GED, skills classes, and certifications). â€‹â€‹While from a distance, our operations may resemble those of a for-profit construction company or rental management firm, a closer look reveals our commitment to the success of our participants.

Hope Restorations acquires houses in the community that are in a state of demise and our workforce development team renovates them to safe, efficient standards. While serving as a training ground for our participants, our work also results in the revitalization of neighborhoods and the creation of high-quality, energy-efficient, and affordable housing for low-income families.

The dimensions of our workforce development program have grown to include Restored Hope Boutique, located in downtown Kinston. This unique shop is managed by a former program participant, symbolizing the success and transformation we aim for in every individual! The boutique directly supports the House of Hope for Women by raising community awareness and providing empowerment for our participants.

Building a Recovery Network

Hope Restorations works to create a recovery network by utilizing partnerships with pre established organizations rather than wasting resources to replicate services. Our staff connects participants to enrollment in public health programs, and works with partners to cover the cost of care for those who are unable to pay. We also address other determinants of recovery such as access to transportation, housing, employment, and social resources. Hope Restorations is highly collaborative and engages local resources to ensure that participants have access to appointments and support services. We secure partnerships with housing agencies and employers to help individuals secure stable housing and gainful jobs, which are essential for maintaining their recovery. We aim to facilitate our resources in a network of partnerships to create a reentry system that meets the needs of all individuals, regardless of background or circumstance.

Regional Expansion of Hope Restorations

Hope Restorations is realizing an expansion goal! We have established an office space in Pitt County, and we have begun renovations in Wayne County. We are thankful for the opportunity to extend our boarders, and we look forward to joining your communities to make a regional impact.
