Hope Restorations’ transitional housing program offers a safe and supportive space for early recovery. Participants can focus on rebuilding their lives, finding balance, and creating a strong foundation for the future. Our 24/7 staff and mentors are always there, providing guidance, building trust, and helping every step of the way.
The House of Hope for Women (Tapp House, c. 1916), located in Kinston, has become an integral part of Hope Restorations’ mission. With the capacity to house up to twenty adult females at a time, our participants’ long-term success rates have increased by offering stability that is necessary in early recovery. At the House Hope for Women, the ladies follow a phase format recovery program, participate in group meetings, activities, skill classes.
House of Hope for Women – Christmas Celebration 2025 ![]()
We had such a fun and joy‑filled night at our annual Christmas party for the House of Hope for Women program!
The room was full of laughter as our participants played games, opened gifts, and enjoyed time together. A huge thank‑you to everyone who donated towards Christmas presents for our participants. Your thoughtful contributions made the gift‑giving portion of the night possible and added so much excitement and joy to the celebration! A special shoutout to our House of Hope for Women Manager, Angel Towle, for the creativity and compassion she pours into our mission. We’re grateful for a community that shows up with generosity and love in such meaningful ways.

Tapp House, c.1916
The historical c.1916 Tapp House was donated to Hope Restorations by the Flynn Home organization at the closure of their boarding house service. While not part of the original plan, Hope Restorations adopted transitional housing as part of its recovery and reentry program; seeing the direct positive impact of housing stability in early recovery. The Duke Endowment, Canon Foundation, and other organizations provided funding to help cover the cost of major renovation to transform the Tapp House into what is now the House of Hope for Women!
