Born and raised in Kinston, North Carolina, on March 2, 1970. Attended Arendell Parrott Academy and graduated from Kinston High School in 1988. Attended and graduated from North Carolina State University in 1993.
Worked at Coastal Wholesale Grocery, Inc. (a N. C. top 100 privately held corporation) for 20 years, finishing as executive vice president, until the company was sold in 2013. Began a new career in commercial real estate and started Edwards Realty Group in Kinston in July 2018, and now works with The Overton Group of Greenville as a Commercial Advisor. Member of First Baptist Church since 1998. Has wife, Raven, and two sons, Parker, age 22, and Seth, age 18.
Has been a past board member of the local BB&T/Truist since March 20, 2001. Current Lenoir Community College Foundation board member. Current Board Member of Hope Restoration of Kinston. Received BSA Silver Beaver award for service. Received Rotary International Paul Harris Award for service. Received CCIM designation for real estate. Has served as an NC State Wolfpack Club Local Representative.
